    FS: e35 M5 Engine/Tranny/Suspension Coming in

    It's coming in from a interior fire. 2000 M5 6-Speed.

Details are pretty sketchy at this point. All I know is:

Interior fire, engine is good and Drive train/Tranny/suspension appears to bo good too.

If interested, please respond to this thread. First come first served.

Come on guys, 400HP in your 5-series...Hey how about a e36 swap ?

    Sooooooo tempting.

Alas, I have too much on my plate right now to consider this.

    Sooooooo tempting.

Give us a general idea of price, because you're a nice guy and all.

Wire harness and ECU good? Does everything in the engine bay come with this?

So tempting to bust out a CC and turn my Coupe into a V8 beast.

Has anyone ever seen an E39 motor in an E36 engine bay? Oh man, would that be sweet... And that 6 speed would be wicked.

I've heard it'll be a mother-and-a-half getting everything working right.

That's half the reason the Hartge H50 (E46 M3/S62) is soooooo expensive.

If I had the funds to spare, I'd drop this in my E36 in a heartbeat.

could you price out stuff individually? Like how much for the tranny? or how much for the differential? Thanks. I'd be most interested in the differential.

To get the V8 to fit you must have custom engine mount brackets. For an engine with this much torque they would have to be super heavy duty. The V8 headers will not fit in the E36. The engine bay is to narrow. You can purchase the headers and mounts from Hartge but they are very expensive. Then you have the custom cat back and exhaust to deal with. Then all the electronics. I am sure the engine has some version of EWS that would need to be coded (if even possible) with the Key/Dash of your 96+ E36. Tougher still if your E36 is pre 96 its can be a bitch to disable EWS especially in the newer engines like this 2000 model. It would be a cool project but very very expensive and will require some real skill and experience.
