Due to demand im remaking this thread. If you have any exhausts i havent covered/have good videos PM me and i can add it.
Im also trying to get another part of this for the exhausts running with track pipes, so if you have any of the exhauts listed below WITH a track pipe i would love to add that.
When looking for an exhaust dont look for the one that produced the most power unless a differance of 2-3 hp is important to you, find the one that sounds the best for your taste. All of these have dynos proving gains in power but honostly its nothing significant or important, as a rule of thumb you can say any of these will produce 5 more HP, and your probably wont feel it, but they do sound sick (thats whats important).
-All prices are give or take about $100 and may change over time, also they are all new prices not used (except the factory M3 exhaust/borla gen 1).

Dinan is a modified stock exhaust. Its basicly the same exact thing just with the insulation of a few of the internal compartments removed to allow better airflow. They are almost identicleOriginally Posted by denverlicious

That Supersprint video w/ the e46 m3 doesnt sound anything like the SS does for the e36. That e46 did have a mean sounding idle tho

I thoguht dinan stopped doing that. I believe I read (<--keyword...meaning I don't know for fact) on a thread that dinan used to do that, but now they make there own.Originally Posted by Zeke

dinan used to do that with their 1st gen exhaust. but you're right, now they make their own T304 stainless steel 2nd gen exhaust which i haveOriginally Posted by giterdone

poser, you should post a pic of it, and any links to clips if you can find it, to stop spreading that common misconception about the dinan exhausts.Originally Posted by orijinal poser

Dinan's Free Flow Exhaust for the 3 series models provides increased flow for power gains without the excessive noise associated with typical "performance" mufflers. The Dinan exhausts feature rigid and durable muffler cases, manufactured from 20 gauge 304-stainless steel for optimum corrosion resistance. Internally, the systems feature Dinan's Tuned Resonance Chamber technology which provides the optimum balance between maximum power gains and a civilized, yet sporty exhaust note. The Dinan exhaust also provides substantial weight reduction. Dual 2.25 inch diameter polished stainless steel exhaust tips give the cars a tasteful performance look as well.

poser how is that exhaust? did you feel any gains on the butt dyno? Also how loud is it? Another key question is are you one of those people who like loud exhausts, or did you like the stock exhaust more? (I like closest to stock exhaust the best, because i enjoy hearing my engine over the exhaust.)
So also based on all taht, do you think i might like the dinan exhaust?

personally, i love the exhaust, but yea, i'm one of those who likes loud exhausts and the dinan isn't loud enough down low. it is plenty loud for an aftermarket exhaust and it sounds great (no droning or raspiness). i bought the car w/ the exhaust on so no butt dyno results from me.Originally Posted by giterdone
to tell you the truth, when i punch it, i can hear my AFE intake wayy louder than my dinan exhaust. honestly, i believe you would like the 2nd gen dinan exhaust. it is music to your ears and it is not too loud at highway speeds. i love it, but then again, i want something louder

hmmm....since you want louder, that may be incentive for me. I've heard rougly the same for stromung. There is a huge price difference in those. My friend is buying hte stromung from understeer, hopefuly he gets it soon and can tell me how it is. (I would normally ride with him to get first hand experience, but we're about 900miles apart right now).

Just added Borla Race video, it sounds amazing

I've got a Dinan exhaust clip if someone can host it.
It's not a modified stock exhaust. I'll try to make a vid of the Triflo I've got on my car now when I get a chance.
IMO, the Triflo sounds much better.
