Just heard on the radio that all you idiots traveling to Bimmerfest got busted going over 100mph on the way through So Oregon..oh my gosh you might want to find out the right places to speed before you take a risk like that.
I have driven from Portland to L.A so many times that I can't even count it any more and will be driving it on this Thursday and there are just certain parts of Oregon and No Cali that you can't do it at, and you found out the hard way. Plus driving through that part of the state that late at night you are coming upon truckers who have been up for a long time and are now getting grumpy, and will call you in as well. At 100mph and in that part of the state your in two lane roads and knowing the mob mentality and the penis measuring contest that happens on the road in that big of a group you were cutting lanes and cutting people off to keep yourself on the road....hahahahahahahahahahha
Oh well....hope it was worth it.

Yep, just saw this article:
Two BMW drivers nabbed doing 118 down I-5
02:05 PM PDT on Friday, April 7, 2006
Associated Press
CENTRAL POINT, Ore. - Oregon state troopers say they've busted two BMW drivers for doing 118 miles an hour on Interstate 5 in Southern Oregon.
The state police said Friday that several more of the luxury vehicles roared past them, reportedly on their way to a BMW rally in Southern California.
The police identified the two drivers as 19-year-old Brandon Scriber of Snohomish, Washington, and 27-year-old Ali Moulin of Seattle.
The police said the pack of BMWs was spotted south of Roseburg, but the patrol didn't have anybody on duty in either Douglas or Josephine counties. So troopers laid in wait in the Medford area about 60 miles south. Shortly before 1 a-m, the troopers stopped the two lead BMWs.
A patrol officer estimated the BMWs averaged nearly 100 miles an hour through the mountainous stretch of I-5. The troopers note that a new Oregon law on speeds of 100 or better calls for a minimum license suspension of 30 to 90 days and an $1,100 fine.

LOL!!!!!!!!!
can you post the link to that article?

Why would he want to do that as it's on the web on an international news site, it's not like he put it up there on his own...just my two cents.

All our local network stations are out of Medford (next to Central Point where the OSP station is). I watched the evening news on 2 different networks. No mention of the bust. Maybe at 11.

A buddy of mine got busted doing 101 in a 70. That's not even that much over, but just the fact that he hit triple digit speeds pissed off the trooper. He pulled him out and (according to my friend) slammed him on the hood, searched him, and cuffed him. He accused him of running from the cops. He didn't get a negligence ticket though, and actually later had it dropped! +1 for Mitch Green.Originally Posted by cbouchez

Luckily I had a scanner and knew it.

Thank you, like I said in my original post I am making the trip to L.A this weekend and hopefully I will be bring it back with some nice 19 inch Hartge rims on there.Originally Posted by Imola M

If you want to make up time then you wait until you are about 20 miles south of Stockton Ca where it's basicly 300 miles of straight road that is hardly patroled by the CHP and the average speed of people driving is 85-90. When you cross over 100mph like that you are now breaking a federal speed law and thus the arrests were handed out. I am sure if OSP had that big of a tip and were waiting for them I am sure it was more then one officer pulling them over.

Really?? I had never heard that there was a Federal Law against that particular speed?Originally Posted by Johnnb
