We’ve covered the X6 phenomenon already, driving some pre-production prototypes around BMW’s South Carolina campus a few issues ago. Between that early drive, the crowd reaction at last September’s Frankfurt Motor Show unveiling, editor Chris Paukert’s recent frankness regarding the vehicle’s marketing strategy, and now this full-on try in dealership-ready trim, we are still left asking, “What is it?”

Boy, did they bash it.
I drove it and sat all through the car. (6cyl)
I am 6'1" tall and 210lbs and had plenty of room in all 4 seats. I actually liked it. If I was in the market for an SAV I would get it. I like the looks and performance.

Wow. Couple things I noticed in that article:
1) As a journalist, that guy needs to go back to school. His continued misuse of the English language makes me not want to believe a word in print. Learn to speak correctly before telling me how to spend my $60,000.
2) He really didn't like that vehicle. Instead of highlighting more about the incredible performance he experienced, he highlights things like lack of rear headroom and small rear window. And he says a backup camera doesn't help? Does it hurt then?
3) His claim of "If you're 6ft or over, front seats only" goes against numerous other claims I've heard. I'm going to need to go down to BMW and sit in one myself, being 6 ft.
What poor Journalism. I'm glad that magazine is free online because I could never pay for that garbage.

Must be an Audi Fan :mad. I work for BMW and I Love the X6. Bmw released the X5 on a limb. It was not the Ultimate driving machine that was anticipated, but it was also the first of many to come. The X6 is the Happy neutral. When driving it you feel so in tune with the road, you sware your driving a 550i, or somthing of that nature. This Writer needs to get driven over by an X6.

I don't know how it drives but I have seen it in person and based on looks alone, I would never buy it. (see my signature to see how I feel about the Xs)

How much of that review actually talked about how the car drove? Two, three paragraphs tops?
