Hey Everyone,
I liked this game so much, I thought I'd tell you all about it.
First off, if you've seen/played www.FantasticContraption.com (http://www.FantasticContraption.com) you will have an understanding of a similar game... but World of Goo is FAR more polished, and more organic - whereas Fantastic Contraption is more industrial/mechanical.
World of Goo has a plot, and it's mildly silly and involves the goos taking down the World of Goo Corporation. But, whatever, who cares.
The goos themselves are awesome and have a good bit of personality for a goo ball. There are also a few different kinds of goos that have different properties, which adds to the puzzle-fun aspect.
The levels are also very well designed and look great. Almost every one is epic, and as the game goes on, they get really tense. The music is also spectacular. It adds a good bit of the epic-ness to the levels. I'm actually quite surprised at how good it is.
The controls are also excellent. I usually hate my wii for everthing except Virtual Console games. I generally think the wiimote sucks (and I'm a huge nintendo fan that grew up on every nintendo console). But, this games use of the wiimote is actually so good I forget I'm using the wiimote.
The game is $15, which I think is a little high for the overall length of the game. I think I actually got more hours of use out of paying $10 for access to all the player Fantastic Contraption. But, World of Goo's levels were exceedingly better quality, and made by the developers. FC levels were made by other players, so are a crapshoot... but there are also thousands of them. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and would suggest anyone who thinks they might like it, go buy it. You will like it. I think I've gotten about 12+ hours out of it so far, and will be going back to it very soon to get my OCD's...
There is the standard difficulty allows you to progress through the game. Then, each level has OCD requirements you can meet. OCD (Obsessive Completion Distinction) criteria on each level is very difficult. Very difficult.
Cliff notes: World of Goo is worth the money, go buy it, play it, and come back here to discuss it.
