Hi Everyone -
I just tried P21S wheel cleaner this weekend....not the gel, the regular spray is what I bought.
The directions on the bottle say to spray it on, then immediately rinse off thoroughly. I did exactly that it seems like nothing happened. My wheels where moderately dirty after my 500mi/week of commuting, but nothing on the horrible side of dirty.
I don't expect the wheels to look brand new after using P21S, but I get the feeling I didn't use the product properly. Any advice on how to use it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I have not tried that product but I am unaware of any wheel cleaner that could simply be sprayed on and rinsed off and actually clean the wheel.
I always use a brush in addition to wheel cleaner

I'm with beshannon. I haven't found anything either that'll clean the wheels without a little agitation or dwell time.
I have about 20 wheel cleaners (I'm stretching it a bit but not by much) and they all need both dwell time and agitation.
Meguiar's Wheel Brightener, the most powerful one I have needs the least amount of dwell time but still needs some agitation for the really nasty bits. Mind you, it also needs nitrile gloves, a mask, a well ventilated area and a hazmat suit.
So give your P21S another try but this time, agitate a bit with a 2 inch bristle paint brush. They're perfect for wheel work - I use a 2 in. sash brush - it's the one cut on an angle. (wrap duct tape around the metal ferrule and you'll be guaranteed not to harm your wheels.)

I have Megs wheel brightener in my shopping cart. It seems like a good product since it is rather inexpensive compared to other strong wheel cleaners, and can be diluted to various strengths.
Do you use it as a regular cleaner for your weekly wash or only when you need to tackle something really tough?

Never on a regular basis, only as a last resort.
eg. A buddy brought over an 85 Merc., never had the wheels cleaned and they looked terrible. The rest of the car looked really good. We took off the front two, power washed them front and back then did WB on the backs. It took off nearly 30 years of grime - the buddy was seriously impressed. (I was too)
A2Z, Autoglym, Menzerna, S100, Sonus, and Brown Royal are the ones I use on a regular basis but it's good to know I have MWB waiting in the bullpen.

Thanks everyone. All good responses. I agree with the notion that most (if not all) wheel cleaners require some agitation to make them work, so that will be my next attempt.
I haven't lost faith in the product, just need to find the right technique.

Using a wheel bush (Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush ) to agitate cleaning product will make them more effective and help to get into hard to reach places

I've used the gel before and loved it- you can spray it on in the shade and leave it for a few minutes, agitate, then rinse and it cleans without seeming too aggressive. I think the spray is supposed to be even more mild than the gel, but probably just needs some agitation.
