Today, I test drove the new 2013 328i Sport sedan with a turbo 4-cylinder. I had my doubts about the power and delivery of this power, but I was extremely impressed with both the power surge from low RPMs and sporty ride. The exterior styling is very elegant and has a demanding road presence amongst other makes. Interior is a step up from the E90/E92, in my opinion, but I'm still not a big fan of the leatherette seats in the model I drove. The features and options are plentiful and the model I drove was well over $40K. I think BMW has come a long way. I had my doubts about a turbo 4-cylinder, and test driving it proved these doubts wrong. The power felt strong and the pull was substantial. While entering an on-ramp, the power surge from roughly 20-50 in 3rd gear pressed me back into my seats; it reminded me of the power from my E46 M3. The cabin was very quiet throughout my test drive, a good thing for some but I missed the sound of the motor, especially an inline-6.

I'm currently in the market for a 4-door sedan, and I wanted something sporty. I skipped driving the 335i since it's out of my budget.

Did you test the Mercedes CLA? I saw one parked at Heald and it was a nice looking car.
