I've just noticed that devices do not power up when plugged into my cigarette lighter. I have the one where the socket is in front of the two cup holders facing upward. I measured 12v at the socket using a voltmeter. I also opened the plug and measured at the internal wires and no voltage.
It seems like the center connection is not reaching. I can visibly see the GND tong touching though. Looking down into the cig socket, it seems narrow and I'm thinking the plug is too big to fit far enough.
I can get these same two devices to power up in my e60 but that socket has a different shape. I also took steel wool and cleaned the f30 socket really good but to no avail.
Is anyone else having problems with not all devices powering up in the f30 lighter socket? Thanks!
