Great day on Satruday, so I spent 4 1/2 hours cleaning my car. Well the exterior anyway. I gotta say, it was tedious, but now it looks nice. Just wanted to share my experiences with certain products.

Eagle One All Wheel Cleaner:I personally prefer P21 (takes less work, less scrubbing), but I didn't have time to go to Tischer BMW and its also pricey ($15-16 per bottle). It does its job.

Mother's Clay Bar: eh. it was ok. Didn't clay the whole car, but parts that needed it like the drivers side doorsill (I smoke and it gets ashed) and the rear-paint was rough to the touch.

3M Swirl Mark Remover (Light car formulation): Great stuff! Highly recommended. I used an orbital buffer to apply it and remove it. After I was done, it looked very smooth. Did the job as advertised.

3M Imperial Hand Glaze: A must have. Another great product. Applied it by hand, since the formulation is not for machine and didn't want to end up over heating the liquid and making it too tacky and smear. Removed it by hand and buffed it with the orbital buffer to smooth it out. Added a nice depth to the paint-made it look wet. But you have to wax it afterwards to seal it.

Meguair's Yellow Wax:A very good wax. Easy on and off. Applied it and removed it with a buffer. Put down 2 coats.

Meguair's Final Detail:Used this to mist the car and even out the wax and get off any remaining residue. Helps to get a little more depth and shine. Great to have for a quick spot detail (if the car is not too dirty).

Peanut Butter:Yes, that's right. Peanut Butter. Warm up a little bit and apply with a towel to any black trim that has wax residue. Good on the trim and on bread with some grape jelly.

Meguair's Gold Class Endurance Tire Gel: Great product. Unlike the spray stuff, it doesn't splatter all over the car after you apply it. You apply the goop with a supplied sponge. Plus it stays on longer than spray applications.

Eagle One Original Nevr-Dull: Its a can of cotton wadding with polish on it. Just tear off what you need and rub any metal parts with it. I used it on my RE DMS tips. Works GREAT. Took out any black stains from the exhaust and put a nice shine on it. Looks brand new again.

Meguair's Clear Plastic Cleaner:Good stuff. Used it on my headlights and turn signals.

And the best part of all this work...

It rained yesterday:mad:

Oops. Almost forgot the disclaimer: I am not affiliated with any of these companies. Just a satified customer.

You don't have to glaze after you use the swirl remover (it has glaze in it) :)

Otherwise great review. :redspot

Doesn't glaze (dedicated glaze) have emollients and oils to feed the paint? I don't disagree that swirl remover doesn't have glaze, but I would think a dedicated glaze would have more to feed the paint. Thanks for letting me know!

Jed, you are absolutely right. A dedicated glaze has a little more emollients and oils than the swirl remover. But, 3m calls their swirl remover (I'm talking about the Perfect-It #39009) Foam Polishing Pad Glaze (then in smaller letters they say swirl remover-dark).

So, this product is more of a heavy duty glaze than the IHG. But I have also tried the imperial machine glaze and that stuff is awesome!

But I have only found that at a few paint shops. Most will order it, but it's too expensive to use all the time.

I usually just wash the car, clay it (if needed), Meguiars Medallian cleaner, IHG, Meg. #26 paste wax. And I get good results.

I am in total agreement, having used just about every one of those products.

Having used a bunch of products, including Blitz wax, verious Meguires, Finish First, Zaino, Zymol, I'm now a P21S convert, though.

I use the Imperial Hand Glaze, followed by P21S paint cleanser, and P21S Concours wax. Makes for an awesome finish. Only downside to the P21S is that it is not as durable as others, but the shine is worth it!

P21S wheel cleaner also rocks.

each item was about $5-7, i believe.

Definitely get an orbital buffer though! It makes a big difference.

btw-the 3M imperial hand glaze doen't get applied by the buffer. 3M has another formulation "imperial machine glaze" for that.

Also Willy's car is a great example of a shiny Hellrot.
