Well I had just taken off my UUC and installed my M3 exhaust and was amazed how much louder the UUC really was. I was laughing the whole time driving because I couldn't hear my car at all. I decided to go to a little back road and give it some juice. Well, I got there and immediatly floored it in second gear and at about 5k RPM a VERY loud crackling noise came about. It sounded like a damn fire cracker. I slowed down as soon as I heard it and the slower the engine went, the slower the sound went. I pretty much concluded it was coming from the engine because every time the engine would idle, the sound would slow down to a steady pace but still be very loud. At idle it was just sort of a loud knocking.

I pulled into the driveway after driving home with this crap and I looked under the car. The exhaust looked fine, couldn't be it... Looked and listened under the engine bay area and that's where the noise was coming from. No mistake, because it's so damn loud. I poped the hood to look in but everything looked fine. I can't see ONE thing that looks strange in there. Do you guys have any idea what it is? The fan looks fun, I just had my coolant changed, the exhaust was done properly, everything looks great but that sound won't stop.

What is it!? :confused

Well I got under the car and checked it out and it's a torn belt, but I'm not sure which one. It's a small belt that is placed right next (or under) a larger belt. Does anybdoy know which belt this is?

Thanks. BMW just replaced all of my AC belts. I've had problems with this dealership selling me defective parts about 5 times now. I'm taking it back tommorrow along with my thoughts on their dealership.
