I did a search but couldn't find any posts comparing people's impression of the Pilot Sport vs the Pilot Sport PS2.

Michelin claims that the PS2 is a little quieter and has better grip both wet and dry.

Can anyone that has driven both tires confirm this? The shop I got the tires from inadvertently ordered me the PS2s and I want to try and figure out if they're worth the extra $$ before having them mounted.

Most of my driving is aggressive street and am planning to do some auto-x this year.

Thanks!

why not the RE050A pole positions? michelin pilot sport PS2's are awesome, by the way. my friend has them...the ONLY tire that will fit his car. pilot sports are good, but not as good. beyond that, i don't know.

honestly, are you going to be racing or something?

What are you saying? your advice is all over the map lol

You'll be happy with the PS2's they are an awesome tire. I'd pick them over the older design for sure. They have great ride quality and excellent grip. There are other tire options out there that I'd consider if I knew more about what you are using the car for. But if you were already set on a Michelin tire then the PS2 is the right way to go.

Just based upon the direction tread pattern of the PS...I'd say the PS2 will definitely be a quieter tire.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to go with the PS2 as you and others have recommended.

The majority of driving I do is on the street, and I tend to be very agressive off the line and entering the turns. I don't know if that helps w/regard to answering my driving style. I also plan to start doing some auto-cross this year - probably just 1 or 2 events so don't think I'll get a dedicated set of rims/tires for that just yet.

As far as picking Michelin goes - I've been pretty happy with the PS performance overall, and I've been running them since buying my E36.

P.S. Your animated Family Guy Icon is really disturbing:D
