1 maybe 2 tops. And for the fans just google spal and pick a site, they make pretty good push and pull electric fans.

SPAL FTW.

You don't need the 16" curved-blade 3600CFM fan. I have it. It sounds like a freaking F16 at full afterburner.

Sure does bring the temps down when it kicks in, though. :D

bimmerworld has spal for a good price and the 16 in curved sounds like a jet for sure but it only flows 2000cfm not 3000 if youre still using the accessory fan all you need is the 16in or you can go with the 13in curved which flows more than the non curved 16

I'v used 2 bottles of Water Wetter with 60/40 Distilledwater/BMW blue coolant and it boiled over just as fast as it normaly does without WW when I spend the day drifting my car. & yes I change my coolant every 2 yrs as recomended.

WW is a waste of $$ IMO.

so you all are just saying to buy the fan and I should be good? Because I really need something for my car. When my car is fully warmed up the temp needle is clearly over the middle hash mark. Looking at it from a driving posistion its about 1/4 the way over to the 3/4 hash mark and looking and it dead on is just over the middle hash mark. When I went to Curry's and spoke with a tech there, he said that WW works but he has hurd some bad things about it. He said it's used as a lubricant for the coolant to make it flow easier thought the system. To much can be bad and gunk stuff up and if you have a leak in your system and use a pluging fluid ( forgot the name ) it will mix with it and can F your system up.

P.S. are there any DIY's on how to install them?

BMW recommends a 50/50 blend of antifreeze/water.

If you do buy WW, get the diesel version--it doesn't result in the ugly oily residue that the gasoline version does (Gasoline WW is intended to be used in race cars which run straight water).

I had no overheating issues driving at the track on Friday (68* ambient temp) with FDM, no extra fan and 1 bottle of WW added to the coolant system.

thats what I have right now without the WW. I am not using BMW coolant though. They were closed when I went up there, so I bought coolant from Auto Zone and just added water. They have a 50/50 and a consintracted version.

Yep, your right. Shows what I get for not looking it up. :rolleyes

Hey man, which kind of coolant did you buy? It is HIGHLY recommended that you run Phosphate free coolant. Autozone has it, its called ZEREX G-sumthin.

Water wetter is really only used in extreme conditions. If youre not racing and its still running hot, theres something wrong with the car.

Thats what I am worried about, I noticed that my car smokes a lot sometimes to. The smoke is white but I don't think it's burning coolant because the Oil wasn't messed up when I replaced it. I also did a fan delete as well. Prestone Antifreeze/Coolant. Thats what I bought.

Per the WW bottle-- use one bottle per automotive cooling system of 12 to 20 quarts-- So I used 1.
